final shots of the actors.

SO here we are at the end! These shots were taken in the final hours before opening night. The cast were treated to dinner beforehand. We also managed to celebrate Nikki Moss's birthday too! She brought in a cake and made sure everyone had a piece. The atmosphere before the show was fantastic. One big happy family. It really will be sad to see it go. But it's o.k. because I am left with wonderful memories and an intense feeling of pride and satisfaction with a job well done!
I look forward to working with as many of you as possible next time!
Adieu, Adieu

The final team talk before "showtime"

Nick pays close attention to how "professional" actors portray happiness on stage!

Directors notes are our way of saying things could be "better". As you can see Emily Moss and Lydia Halders are taking the news rather well don't you think?

Aren't actors "special"?

Everyone got a piece of Nikki's birthday cake (she insisted!)

Obviously not everyone was on a diet

These three seemed to have a little competition going to see who would be ready first every night. (it was usually Hannah)

By the end of the run everyone seemed quite comfortable in their costumes

Katherine likes doing this pose for the camera. I thought she was trying to do a sexy pout but as it turns out she is actually showing off her double chin! (Honest, just ask her !)

one of these three has just dislocated their shoulder! Gues which one.

Eventually Nikki resorted to a "reverse mugging" tactic. she would jump out at you and instead of robbing you she forced cake into your hands!

See!!!

The number two seems to have a special significance with Emma. Maybe she's been watching too much "Lost"!

"do you bite your plant at me, sir?"

This was where the fates went to do their makeup (and Tybalt, it appears!)

Miss Macdonald was a legend during the show. Among her talents was her amazing abilty to make the fates look beautiful!

Obviously not everyone was pleased with the end result!

FEED ME! ... Oh wait that was last year! but i suppose an army does march on it's stomach. judging by the amount being scoffed, they were big stomachs, too!!!!

Nikki's magic "floating cup and plate" trick needs work!

some more from behind the scenes

this is the view the actors get just before entering from behind Juliets balcony. As you can see a sword is still on the set from one of the (many) last minute rehearsals of the fight scenes.

This area had to be kept clear because the audience could see right through the back of the balcony so Mr. Megson designed more scenery to maintain the illusion! Such dedication to detail!

As you can see, we didn'y have many props in the play but this is where they were kept when not being used.

Thats a Wrap!

I had intended to give a show by show update but it all came and went with such a blur that I just didn't get around to it. However, I did manage to get the old camera out a couple more times in the night of the first and last show. the first thing i did was to take a few snaps of the set and the backstage area to give those of you who were not in it a chance to see what was behind the scenes (literally)!
so here's a last look of the magnificent set for the show

The journey's over

Well, that's that. The production is finally over. It's been tough - we have complained about the rehearsals, the numerous costume fittings, lunchtime sword fighting and/or dance practices. We have been yelled at for getting the world's easiest dance so wrong it probably didn't even look like a dance! And we were laughed at for bending our swords almost double, making the lewdest sexual innuendos and stepping on other Fates' "tentacles".

But it has been a great six months.

Seeing as I seem to be the only cast member on this blog, I guess I just want to give out a big, BIG thank you to everyone involved. The general citizens deserve the biggest round of applause: you guys were the backbone of the play. Mr Dowle, Ms Bicknell, principles, fates, sound people, light people, backstage people, wing people, costume people, and Ms McDonald, this play would not have been as amazing without you. And Ms McDonald - big props for putting up with Nikki!

Can't wait for the next one,
-Amirah

PS/ A bunch of the Garden kids thought the play was naff, but what do they know?

It's almost here!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there everyone. there hasn't been much blog action from me lately because we have just been soooooooo busy with the rehearsals and other things going on around school. But hopefully the wait will have been worth it because i can give you some up to date shots of the show in rehearsal. The costumes haven't arrived yet but you can see that the set and the lights are coming along nicely!

In a game of two halves you have to rely on your good old flat back four!

The death of Schlunke! "Ding Ding the Witch is dead..." etc.

"Everybody's dead, Dave"!

Cat and Daniel Ask (not pictured) do a great job keeping things in order in the wings. They are my "Wingmen"

Katya and Yasin paying full attention to the scene (as usual!)

"From little acorns grow mighty oaks". Maybe we should do Alice in Wonderland next!

Romeo is "just another brick in the wall"

Kim as the nurse looks like she's gonna bop Raf on the nose, here!

"Nurse help, I ate too many roti's at break time and now my stomach has turned into what looks like a huge blue cushion!"

Just like the drama kids in "High School Musical" (except not rubbish)

"I'd just like to thank the Academy for this award. I'd also like to thank my family and friends for all their support. I'd like to thank Mrs. Broadbent for making me wear girls clothes. I'd like to thank my pet bunny wunny for being so cute. I definitely want to thank goodness for letting me remember all my lines. But i don't want to thank Mr.Dowle for making do lots of swordfighting that makes me look cool and dangerous cos now everyone points at me in the street and shouts "Raf, we love you!" .........

"Someone keeps stealing our groceries!"

If the wind changes, Kate, you'll stay like that!

A view from the bridge (I mean lighting box!)

"Atten-shun!"

"God loves ya, baby!"

"Hey, how come she gets to stand up with her hand on her hip?!"

"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou....flashlight?!"
